On Saturday, 1st November 2025, the Wallsend Boys Club Hong Kong proudly launched its inaugural Special Educational Needs (SEN) Football League, an exciting event that brought together three teams from Hong Kong Football Club Crusaders and a team from Love 21. The league format featured 6-aside games, each lasting 10 minutes, played on a unique inflatable pitch that allowed for continuous play without boundaries. Unlike conventional goals and discs that often interrupt the flow of the game, the inflatable setup kept the ball in play, allowing players to thrive in the non stop environment. The enthusiasm from players, spectators, and coaches created a lively atmosphere that highlighted the joy of playing football.
Tony Sealy and Neil Jensen, the league organisers and co-chairs of Wallsend Boys Club Hong Kong, expressed their excitement: “Seeing the pitch come to life was truly transformative. The players were energized, and the enthusiasm of those present fuelled their performance. The coaches and helpers enjoyed every moment and delighted to witness the impact the league will make as it grows. ”
The SEN Football League aims to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for children with special educational needs, promoting physical activity, social interaction, and overall well-being. Engaging in team sports helps improve motor skills, boost confidence, and foster a sense of belonging within the community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors - LGA Foundation, St. James Place, Asia Pacific Soccer School, and Zyphr - whose support made the SEN league a reality. Their commitment to fostering inclusive sports programs is instrumental in providing opportunities for all children to engage in physical activities.
Additionally, we would like to thank the dedicated team of coaches and parents whose unwavering support empowers our players. Their involvement ensures that every child has the chance to shine in a nurturing environment.
